Dancing Makes You Smarter

The New England Journal of Medicine published a report on the effects of recreational activities on mental acuity on aging.  This 21 year study concluded that dancing frequently was the greatest risk reduction (against dementia) of any activity studied, cognitive or physical.  Although the study’s focus was ballroom dancing, the conclusion was “do the kinds of dance where you must make as many split-second decisions as possible. That’s the key to maintaining true intelligence”.
